The Mission

To achieve efficient, effective, safe, environmentally responsible and profitable: marketing, collection and recycling of used oil, and treatment and disposal of industrial wastes within a lawful, administrative, economic and social framework.

Demineralisation/oil process:

Used oil suitable for recycling is recovered by a unique chemical process which removes water and heavy metals without the need for high temperatures which often cause unsatisfactory air emissions. Testing and analysing is conducted at various stages during treatment to ensure the final product meets legislative requirements and product specifications.

Nationwide Oil Re-refinery:

Nationwide Oil has built Australia's most technologically advanced re-refinery in Wetherill Park, NSW. The re-refinery has the capacity to treat 30 million litres of used oil each year.

The re-refining process effectively removes contaminants such as heavy metals, free carbon (soot), residual additives and asphaltenes, from the used oil feedstock. The contaminant removal process operates at ambient temperature, rather than the high temperatures required in other re-refining processes. Post process fractionation is carried out at usual distillation temperatures. The only waste produced by this process is water - some of which is reused by the plant.

Hazardous waste immobilisation and disposal:

Nationwide Industrial Services, a Division of Nationwide Oil, treats and disposes of industrial liquid waste. The wastes are immobilised and then disposed of at appropriately licensed/approved landfills. Chemical fixation and solidification of liquid wastes containing soluble toxic compounds and hazardous solid wastes are well established processes. These techniques reduce the mobility of toxic components within the waste by chemically binding them to a solid inert mass.

The Services

Used oil collection and recycling:

Nationwide Oil has a used oil collection network which spans the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. Nationwide Oil provides a fast, reliable service including emergency callout and after hours operation.

The used oil is processed into fuel oil for commercial applications. Industrial fuel oils are processed to specification at Nationwide facilities to ensure consistent quality and to meet legislative requirements.

Heavy metal analysis, leachate analysis (TCLP) of solid materials, phenol and cyanide testing, flash testing, water concentrations and viscosity testing are among the wide range of analyses available.
